I'll start by saying that the service was almost perfect. Almost. We had an A/C unit installed, as well as 3 other services done simultaneously, about 1 year ago. The additional services were ducting a kitchen hood through our roof, repositioning a small upstairs unit and adding a small duct to service a storage room, and adding a make-up air unit for the kitchen hood. We were encouraged to sign up for their home protection plan since it would pay for itself in discounts for the installation. Who wouldn't? Overall, the quality of service was good, except they ended up making a huge mistake cutting through our roof within 12 inches of a ridge and a valley (yes, both) on the visible side of the roof, and couldn't get the exhaust hood to fit. Anyone brave enough to cut through a roof better understand that this is a major no-no (never closer than 2 feet to a ridge or valley). However, they called a roofer out to repair the damage, and the same roofer cut the exhaust hood in correctly. The work was otherwise neat (some trash here or there, but nothing major), but it left a visible patch on the roof that we chose not to address since the roof was near its replacement anyway. When the job was complete, we were happy, overall. Fast forward 1 year, and I get billed $575.00 for the HPP renewal, which I don't recall being mentioned. It was likely in the fine print, I'm sure, so that's on me, but with all of the other disclosures, I would have expected this to be mentioned. I called and asked if it could be refunded, and was told I'd get called on Monday. They did indeed decide to refund the membership, which I appreciate, but the representative I spoke to cautioned me that they would not be able to handle any warranty claims without the HPP service, and that I'd have to work directly with the manufacturer. REALLY? That seems like scare tactics to me, and I'm not having it. This may be the norm these days, but that is a very sketchy way to upsell a customer. If it weren't for their stance on addressing warranty issues for the equipment THEY installed, I wouldn't even have cared to leave this review. I won't be using them in the future and would caution others to be careful with them. Good service at the time of install, but lack of value afterward.
